Vampire the masquerade ravnos1/19/2023 ![]() In the US there are self declared Romani people, that is true. Some do travel in caravans, actually _Travelling_, and in France, they have a “circulation permit” (which is kinda discriminatory). Many of them are seen in markets selling goods and going from market to market, following a “tour”. No seriously, in Europe Travelers of all sorts, including actual Romani people, are fairly common. Hmm See the issue with the Ravnos, like for the Setites, is that the clan was created among the image of what some people have of the Travelers (aka Gypsies, Romani, Roms, Gitans… they’re not all the same but I’ll use Travelers as a general term).įirst let me explain a little about “Travelers”. The Old World has a much harder time doing it, and their vision of Italian Mafiosi or Roma people can be seen as racist. Then again, Americans like to describe themselves with only three words. To be fair, authors from the WW books knew nothing about the complexity on any of these, and sometimes, it’s plain over simplified or caricatural. Disclaimer: I don’t like the independent clans because they were all built around a nationality/race and a concept, without going further than plain caricaturesĪrabic Assassins, Italian corpse-fuckers, Roma/Gypsie/Travellers tricksters, and Egyptians/snake charming corrupters.
